Designed and produced by the French CoI

This is a c-book unit created by 6 members of the French CoI, having an expertise mainly in mathematics, informatics and education. Calculating limits presents problems to French students of tertiary education (12th grade), especially the weakest.

These tend to use the screen of their calculator to determine the result of a limit because they do not master the theory very well. We wanted them to foster their approach by calculus rather than relying on graphical clues only. That’s the reason why, this c-book unit aimed at articulating different representations of limits, mainly graphical and numerical. A game concludes the c-book unit where students have to invent difficult formulae that will challenge their peers, and find the right answers, in order to gather points.
